A new international quintet of leading contemporary accordionists and composers, Accordionesse creates new music exploring the contrasts and common ground between Celtic, Nordic and Baltic traditions, as well as each player’s wide-ranging artistic travels.
Between them, Tuulikki Bartosik (Estonia), Hannah James (England), Teija Niku (Finland), Mairearad Green (Scotland) and Karen Tweed (England) have worked with acts including Songs of Separation, Swåp and Lady Maisery, while their range of influences also encompasses tango, musette, Balkan, electronic and Americana sounds.
